• Re-established Chartered Institute for Business Accountants (CIBA) as a successful professional accountancy membership body growing from 300 members in 2013 to more than 9000 in 2020.
• Originated the concept of a newspaper based online platform for accountants and finance executives – www.accountingweekly.com and www.cfotalks.com as lead generators for CIBA and to drive thought leadership initiatives. Adhered to ethical guidelines and standards to promote responsible publication and media practices.
• Originated the concept of an online learning platform for accountants and finance executives – www.saiba.academy to facilitate CPD, Upskilling, and Specialisation assessments and courses.
• Ultimate oversight of Phase 1, 2, and 3 of the CIBA relaunch project. Now in its 7th year there are a total of 20 live projects under management.
• Expanding CIBA in a highly congested market of 10 competing associations requires new ideas that is relevant to the South African reality and building a network of accessible government, private sector, professional bodies and academia decision-makers.

Chantelle Booyens is CIBA’s CFO and and has been a part of the CIBA team since 2014. Chantelle holds a BCompt degree from the University of South Africa and completed a three-year accountancy learnership.

Pieter de Jager has more than 24years’ experience in senior management roles in a number of sectors including engineering, manufacturing, FMCG, transport logistics & warehousing, metals & mining and cement manufacturing.

For the past 14 years he has held the positionof Chief Financial Officer and Director to the Boards of various multi-national companies, predominantly in the mining and metals sector. He served as executive and non-executive director on the Boards of companies listed directly and indirectly (onsubsidiary boards) in South Africa (JSE), Canada (TSX),Australia (ASX)and Tanzania (DSE)

He has considerable experiencewithcorporate actions such asmergers & acquisitions,reverse listings,corporate finance,capital fund raising, debtreorganisation,group restructuring&unbundling,feasibility studiesandcompanyvaluations.Healso assisted insetting up governance structuresanddevelopingboard subcommitteesfor listed corporates and professional bodies.

He has alsoworked in challenging operating environments ranging from theDemocratic Republic ofthe Congo, Zambia, Swaziland, Uganda, Tanzania,and is wellexperiencedin the challenges posed inAfrica and he brings a valuable basket of learnings with him.

Nonhlanhla Mona-Dick is an inspirational leader who is respected as a credible voice in decision making, proud professional, experienced finance leader, visionary and an advocate for establishing governance boundaries. A specialist with invaluable experience gained over 13 years in the private and public sectors with exposure to diverse disciplines including Risk, Process Controls, Skills Development, Auditing, Finance and Project Management.

She is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the ETDP SETA, where she is responsible to direct the SETA’s financial goals, objective, plans and overseas the investment of over R 1 billion of skills funds. Through her current role she continues to pursue her passion of empowering individuals through skills development and education.

Nonhlanhla is currently the chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee of the National Library of South Africa. Past Board and leadership roles include Non-Executive Director – National Library of South Africa (Audit and Risk Committee and Chairperson of Finance Committee), Executive Director (Acting CFO) – CEF SOC LTD, Executive Management – Office of the Public Protector, Senior Finance Management – EMC Computer Systems South Africa.

Nonhlanhla graduated from the University of Pretoria and completed her post graduate studies with UNISA. She served her articles at Deloitte and Touché. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has been recognised with many performance and service delivery awards in her career.

Lee-Anne Germanos has a Bcom Law degree majoring in Economics and International Relations, as well as an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria.  She is an admitted attorney with four years of commercial litigation experience at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs (ENSAfrica). Lee-Anne has a masters degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford. She was a legal researcher at the Helen Suzman Foundation focusing on corruption, the criminal justice system and gender based violence. Lee-Anne is currently a Law Clerk at the Constitutional Court. She is also the co-founder and co-director of The Embrace Project, an NPC combatting gender based violence.

Phumlani Majozi is a business and macroeconomics analyst, writer and commentator on economic and political issues. In 2018, he was appointed a Senior Fellow at African Liberty – where he researches on African economics and politics. In addition to sitting on the board of CIBA, he’s also a non-executive director at Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA), and sits on the Council of the South African Institute of Race Relations. His writings have been published in the City Press, BizNews, African Liberty and Politicsweb. He’s also a contributor on News24, South Africa’s leading news website – and economics contributor on Johannesburg’s Chai FM 101.9.

Amy Jones is a director of Truter Jones Inc, CIBA’s legal adviser and company secretary since 2019.

Amy holds BA and LLB degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand where she graduated cum laude. Amy is a member of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law and an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Amy’s legal career commenced at an eminent South African intellectual property law firm. Through her experience in intellectual property law, she developed a keen interest in commercial law.

Since being admitted, Amy has gained extensive experience in commercial law, including in particular advising on local and international commercial transactions spanning a wide array of various markets, advising on all aspects of the Companies Act, 71 of 2008, and corporate governance and providing company secretarial services to a number of public, private and non-profit clients.

Amy and her firm are responsible for, amongst others, guiding CIBA on proper corporate governance, reviewing CIBA’s statutory documents and policies from time to time to ensure that they are in line with changes in relevant laws and best practices, providing CIBA with regulatory advice on and assistance with the advancement of the interests of CIBA’s members, advising on the structuring of strategic partnerships and/or transactions as part of CIBA’s continuous efforts to expand and enhance the benefits provided to its members and ensuring that CIBA’s disciplinary procedures are conducted properly, efficiently and fairly.
